Donbass Arena, Ukraine
Donbass Arena is a stadium that the football team Shaktar Donetsk use. The pitch was opened in August 2009 and is a pitch that has natural grass. The location of the stadium is in in the centre off the city, in the Lenin Comsomol park. The stadium is the biggest in Ukraine and has a capacity of 52,518 spectators. The stadium was also used to host some matches of the euro 2012. The cost of construction for this stadium was $400M with the size of the football pitch being 105m x 68m (344ft x 223 ft)
The stadium was one of the venues for the UEFA Euro 2012. The stadium hosted group D stage games and one quarter-final and one semi-final game (with the other matches in that group played at Kiev Olympic Stadium). Unlike most of the new stadiums that were being built in Poland and Ukraine to host the Euros, Donbass Arena was not specifically built for the tournament. The countries that got the chance to play in the stadium were England, France, Ukraine and Sweden
